Cape
Pakarang's Pakweeb Beach and Bangsak Beach Resorts
A
favorite area of beachcombers as Cape Pakarang ("coral"
in Thai) washes up great shells and interesting pieces
of coral overnight. Those that enjoy an early
morning beach walk, will not be disappointed here.
Both beaches offer a selection of local restaurants
right on the sand. Cape Pakarang is about a ten
minute drive north of the main areas of Khao Lak.
Some people feel it is a bit isolated - other love the
uncrowded beaches. Most resorts in the area will
offer a shuttle into the town areas for shopping and
looking about.

A
very nicely designed resort with the special feel of
thatched roofed bungalows and villas and Bali baths and
showers.
The
Resort sits across a quiet street that has many small
Thai restaurants right on the beach front.
The
Haadson has a loyal following that seems to return year
after year.

Set
on one of the best beaches in the Khao Lak area - the
LeMeridien Khao Lak Resort receives consistently
excellent reviews. Not cheap - but still providing
excellent value for the price, the LeMeridien delivers
high quality service and lodging.
The
absolute beachfront pool villas in the bottom right of
the photo are ideal - if in your budget range.
The
Sarojin won "World Luxury Romantic Hotel" at the World
Luxury Hotel Awards 2007; "Asia's Leading Boutique
Hotel" at World Travel Awards 2006; was included in the
Conde Nast Traveler US Hot List for both hotels and spas
in 2006 and appeared as the front cover of the Conde
Nast Traveler US October 2006 issue.
Beautifully designed, this resort sits along a long
stretch of beach, just south of the Palm Galleria.
From six two-storey villas to smaller villas to the
sixty deluxe rooms, the design theme is consistent
throughout the resort.
The
Takolaburi was featured in Best Paradises in Thailand
(Unseen Planet 2007 Edition).
Newly opened in late 2007, the Apsaras Beach Resort &
Spa features 4 Suites, 19 Pool Access Rooms, 41 Deluxe
Rooms and 86 Superior Rooms.
All
rooms are located in three-storey connected buildings.
Amenities include a rain shower in Superior Rooms, a
bath tub in Pool Access Rooms, separate shower and bath
tub in Deluxe Room and extra outdoor rain shower in the
suites. Most of the rooms have balconies overlooking the
sea.
Sometimes called a "Jungle Resort", the Similana sits on
a hillside over looking the sea. Featuring wooden
bungalows - it has a bit of the old Thailand charm to
the place. Mixed reviews are offset by very modest
prices, particularly in low season.
