Khao Lak Beach

While "Khao Lak" is the term used for the general area around Khao Lak, Baan Khao Lak village and Khao Lak Beach are at the southern end of the area that is typically called "Khao Lak". 

This is the area around the beach on which the Khao Lak Merlin and Khao Lak Emerald and Briza Resorts are located.  See the Khao Lak Map for reference.

This area is/was perhaps the slowest in recovering from the 2004 tsunami and only in early 2008 are the Khao Lak Emerald and Briza Resorts finally open.  The Khao Lak Merlin re-opened quickly.
