Khao Lak Photos and Update on September 3See also page two and page three of this update. Khao Lak Guide and Update for Sept 3.Forum members requested
information about the following resorts and locations. Similar information: beach photos, restaurants in the area, resort photos for Baan Khao Lak (pool repairs, restaurant construction, etc), Gerd and Noi’s, Khao Lak Paradise and Khao Lak Resort. AND . . . some info about the Poseidon Bungalows. Someone asked about the Haadson, but if you look on the home page of Khao Lak Lovers there are two previous updates with lots of info on the Haadson, so to make time for the other things – I didn’t go up there. From the north heading south (the
best is saved for almost last) – we’ll start with the
LeMeridien.
The KukKak Bar and Grill is still in good form and offers drinks and food at less than the usual LeMeridien fares. It is on the entrance road to the LeMeridien and part of their operations. What, at one time, was called the
“Tsunami Survivor’s” restaurant on the beach south of the resort, is now
called RimLay Seafood and is currently closed, but will be open, no doubt in
the coming high season as it appears to have been upgraded and another small
area has been added.
LeMeridien itself has built a
nice seafront restaurant/bar immediately south of the resort – between the
resort and the RimLay. It is almost finished and I would guess it will be
open shortly.
As you leave the resort and head towards Khao Lak Town, you find numerous other small restaurants and even an ATM, this is one of the shops.
As you head down the beach to the west and south the AoThong Beach restaurants (three of them) are doing fine and upgrading even.
Two different sets of modest, but quite nice bungalows are being built right behind the restaurants - the ones closest to the sea would be a great find! Not finished yet - and no one was around the find out how to book them. Very nice!
The beach in this area, just down
from the LeMeridien, is just beautiful - as always. Here a shot in
each direction:
And . . . here's photo of why I think Cape Pakarang is so beautiful - (in addition to the beach of course!):
Head on over to page two of this report to read about the Apsaras and the Bang Niang Beach area - La Flora and Ramada (quite a surprise to me!).
