Khao
Lak Restaurants in the Cape Pakarang Area
Pakweeb Beach Area Restaurants:
[see lower page for
southwest Cape and Bang Sak Beach areas]
Starting
at the LeMeridien [ almost exact middle of the map to
the right] the KukKak
Bar and Grill is in good form and offers drinks
and food at less than the usual LeMeridien fares. It is
on the entrance road to the LeMeridien and part of their
operations.
The LeMeridien also has a
very nice seafront restaurant/bar [below]
immediately south of the resort – between the resort and
the RimLay [below right].

What, at one time,
was called the “Tsunami Survivor’s” restaurant on the
beach west of the LeMeridien resort, is now called RimLay
Seafood [below and below left] and is usually closed
in low season, but open during high season.

As
you walk out of the LeMeridien onto Pakweeb Beach and
head west you will pass the RimLay Restaurant and
quickly come to a small rocky outcropping at the
Similana Resort. The Similana has an excellent
restaurant set up on the bluff above the rocky area -
great views and authentic Thai spicy food (be warned!).
Continue walking west past the Similana - you may need
to walk up and through the Similana to get around the
rocky area at high tide). About 150-200 meters
after the Similana you will find the Ao Thong Beach
Restaurants (two restaurants and a bar currently) with
great food with local prices. (sometimes spelled Ow
Thong)

The beach in the
area is beautiful and this is a great place to pause for
some refreshment. The two photos below look in
each direction from their location.
To the west is
the Sarojin [below left photo] and you can see the umbrellas
outside their resort. To the east is the Similana
and you can see a bit of the rocky area near that resort
[below right photo].

The Sarojin also has
excellent, albeit pricey restaurants. The one
located on the beach frontage - has more moderate prices
and offers great views of the bay and sea.
Southwestern Cape
Pakarang Area Restaurants
If you get out on
the road that runs to the tip of the Cape, you will be
heading towards the Palm Galleria - and there are two
local restaurants in that immediate area.
The Pakarang Bungalow resort has a restaurant and they
are located 900 meters to the east of the Galleria - and
there is a sea view restaurant about 100 meters to the
west. We can guess that as the Takolaburi
(sometimes spelled "Tacola") and Apsaras Resorts get
into full swing high season - even more small local
restaurants will present themselves.

Bang Sak Beach Area Restaurants
In the area in front
of the Haadson Resort is a long stretch of quiet beach
road that is home to many small Thai restaurants. If you
stay at the Haadson - you will be spoiled for choices
[left and below].
