 Kho
Khao Island Restaurants
If
you stay on Koh Kho Khao (Kho Khao Island), about 30
minutes north of Khao Lak, there are a few small
restaurants on the island, but not many have developed
on the beach front areas - yet.
The
area is so beautiful that this is a only a small
sacrifice to make and the prices at the local resort
restaurants are still quite moderate compared to the
Khao Lak or Phuket areas.
A
favorite of many who come to the island is Taco Time -
Thai and quite decent Mexican food. People who
visited Khao Lak pre-tsunami will remember this
restaurant in the area in front of the current day Khao
Lak Laguna Resort.
 The
restaurant owner, Khun Nan, lost six employees in the
2004 tsunami and is very optimistic about his new

Taco Time is located on the main north-south road of Kho
Khao Island and is probably less than one kilometer from
the ferry landing.
They will pick you up from your resort and take you to
the restaurant - and they will also deliver. Great
food - and some of the best Mexican food in southern
Thailand.
Also on Kho Khao Island is the Kokai Seafood Restaurant
where you can "Catch your own Fish" and "choose your own
Lobster". I think they mean you can use a net and
get your fish out of the tank. They also offer
pizza, Western food and regular Thai food.
